Hilton Frankfurt Airport Hotel
Hilton Frankfurt Airport

Stayed February 2025 and March, 1 night, I booked a Standard Queen Guest Room; the rate was 135€, which can vary depending on the date of stay up to 250-400€ per night and room; due to my Gold status with Hilton I received free breakfast and an upgrade to an Executive Room

Update March 2025: Second stay, no upgrade or acknowledgement of my status, was given a rather old room, it seems that the hotel is trying to cut costs by limiting free upgrades and trying to sell the upgrades for cash

Room Types

There are several room types you can book at this hotel. They include Queen, King, and Twin Guest Rooms and Twin Deluxe Rooms on higher floors with better views. Other room types offered are Queen, King, and Twin Executive Rooms on the 9th or 10th floor, Twin Junior Suite, King Deluxe Suite with a Living Room, King Executive Corner Suite, Family Connecting Suite, and the Presidential Suite.

Location

The Hilton Frankfurt Airport is located at Terminal 1 of the Airport. It is connected to the high-speed rail train station, which is about a five-minute walk. The main area of Terminal 1, where you can check in for your flight, is about a 10-15 minute walk, and the signs clearly show you the way. There are plenty of shops around. You will find a supermarket Rewe and also a bakery nearby. This can be useful if you are staying in a Standard Room without Lounge Access, or if you arrive in the late evening and you want to buy some food or water. The hotel is great if you arrive late and continue early in the morning, or if you just have an early morning flight. This way, you can avoid the stress of taking a taxi or train, and you can easily walk to Terminal 1.

Check-In/Out and staff

The check-in process at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport was quick and friendly. My status was acknowledged and I received an upgrade to the Executive Floor. The receptionist was very friendly and asked me if I would like a room on the 9th or 10th floor of the hotel, which are both floors for Executive Rooms. I received my room key and a card that mentioned all Gold Member benefits at the hotel. When you book a room at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport, the hotel does a pre-authorisation of your credit card, usually a couple of days before your arrival. Additionally, there is also a 50€ deposit, which is pre-authorised on your credit card upon check-in. There were no issues with that, and upon check-out, it will be released automatically. However, this might be inconvenient if you use a debit card or a credit card with a lower credit limit, as the amount is blocked. The check-out procedure was very quick and friendly, without waiting times. I was asked about my stay, and my bill was printed out as well upon my request.

Room and Wi-Fi

I booked a Standard Room at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport but was upgraded to an Executive Room on the 10th floor. The room itself is spacious, with a large bed and different pillows. The bed is soft and offers a good and comfortable sleep. The room features a large work desk with a table lamp, providing ample space for work. There are also different plugs at the work desk to charge your phone or plug in your computer. Overall, the interior feels a bit old and dated; however, it is kept clean and well-maintained. The sound insulation of the hotel is very good, and it’s very quiet. You will not hear any outside noise from traffic or planes, and also there is only minimal noise from the hotel floors. This is excellent for an airport hotel, and you can enjoy a pleasant stay and get some good rest.

The room offers a large TV with a good selection of TV channels. You can control and adjust the room temperature according to your needs. The control panel is old and not digital, but it worked fine. Within the room, you will find a kettle with tea (Dilmah) and coffee, and a Nespresso machine as well. Hilton uses Rezemo capsules. There is an ice bucket as well in the room, and you can find ice machines on the floor as well. The minibar in the room is well-stocked and operates with a sensor. If you remove an item from the fridge, it will be charged automatically to your bill. The free Wi-Fi speed was only 5 MB/s, which is rather poor for a business hotel, and this could be improved.

Bathroom and Amenities

The bathroom is spacious, and you can find a bathtub and a walk-in shower. The sink is modern and has two separate tabs for hot and cold water, and there are enough towels and two facecloths provided in the room. You will also find two bathrobes and slippers in the room, as this is an Executive Room, as well as a shower cap, a hairdryer and a box of tissues. Hilton Frankfurt Airport uses amenities from Crabtree and provides hand wash, body lotion, shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. The shower has a decent size and is easily accessible, and the water pressure and temperature were very good. Unfortunately, there was no dental or shaving kit in the room, so this could be improved. However, you can always request items or additional things that you require at the front desk. The room also provides an ironing board and an iron.

Executive Lounge

The Executive Lounge at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport is located on the 10th floor of the hotel, and you can access the Lounge with your key. The lounge is open from 07 am to 09 pm. Breakfast is complimentary for Club Floor Rooms and is offered at the RISE Restaurant on the ground floor. During the day, you will find some cookies, nuts, fruit, soft drinks, tea, and coffee in the lounge. The happy hour in the lounge is between 06 pm and 08 pm, where hot food is provided and alcoholic drinks are available. For the hot food items, there were two choices: either meatballs or spring rolls, and some vegetarian nuggets. Different salads were provided in small glasses, as well as different bread rolls and a cheese selection. There were no signs about the food items, but people could ask the staff member about the food items and ingredients. Overall, the quality was very good and decent. The Executive Lounge had only one staff member working, but the staff member was very friendly and did a good job of clearing plates, and glasses whenever possible. Food items were also refilled when they were empty. Overall, the experience was good.

For alcoholic drinks, there was a selection of spirits available to prepare your drink. Additionally, different types of beer are offered, including wine (white, rosé, sparkling wine) and also non-alcoholic options of beer and wine. The selection and quality are good. It is recommended to arrive earlier than 6 pm if it is possible, so you can secure a seat and a table. During those two hours, the lounge can be very busy.

Food and Beverage

The Hilton Frankfurt Airport offers Room Service, the Restaurant RISE, which is open for breakfast but also for dinner. There is also a bar on the ground floor level that is open until 1 am, where you can enjoy drinks and a selection of bar food.

The breakfast is served from 6 am to 10 am at the RISE restaurant on the ground floor and costs € 38 if it’s not included in your rate. The price tag is quite high, so if you don’t have a rate that includes breakfast or a status that comes with free breakfast, I would consider different options at nearby airports. There is a tea and coffee station, where you can find coffee machines, tea, water and juices. A nice touch is that you can find sparkling wine and vodka with tomato juice as well, so you can prepare a Bloody Mary. If you travel on a special occasion for holidays, this is a nice bonus.

The breakfast buffet offers a large selection of hot and cold food choices. You can find bread rolls, cake, pastries, jam, honey, marmalade and Nutella. There is a selection of salads, salmon, cold cuts (salami and other options), and different cheese options. On the other hand, there is a different selection of muesli and dried fruits, yoghurt, bircher muesli and a selection of fresh fruits. Hot options that were offered included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, vegetables, and some other hot dishes like noodles. It is also possible to order an omelette, which will be prepared for you. Overall, the breakfast and the food at the Hilton Frankfurt Airport are very good.

Rating 7.5/10

The Hilton Frankfurt Airport Hotel offers a good option when staying for one night at the airport. While the rooms might feel a bit dated, they are kept clean. The staff is very friendly, and the Executive Lounge and breakfast are very good. It’s always important to check the hotel rates as they vary a lot. Often you can see prices over 200€, depending on the dates. If you plan to stay a lot of the time in the room or use the lounge, the hotel is a good choice. But if you’re just looking for a place to stay overnight to catch your flight the next morning, I would also consider the Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport. This property is next door to the Hilton Frankfurt Airport, and the prices are often significantly cheaper.

The rating was adjusted from 8.5 to 7.5 (March 2025), as during my second stay, my status was not acknowledged, and I was given a rather old room, despite others being available. I will consider other options, like the Garden Inn next door, if they are trying to cut costs and limit the upgrades.
